I just downloaded SAI Paint Tool yesterday... This weird drawing popped out after messing around with it for a few hours. I think it's an alien. Yeah, let's go with that...

For those who haven't heard of SAI, it's basically an outstandingly watered-down yet affordable version of Painter. Overall it has it's limitations, but I like it.

Heehee.  Well, I drew an ostrich today.  I opening up photoshop and wasn't sure what to draw.  I looked over to Jay's computer, and saw that he was playing MMO's...in a game that we like to play together, ostiches are an animal-mount.  So, that's why I drew an ostrich. (Pretty silly reason, huh?)  He's rather sad looking though, it's almost depressing...

But actually, drawing this was good practice.  Ostiches are very strange looking animals, and making him look balanced was important.

Put in another 2 hours, bringing up the total to 4.  It's not finished, but I think it's showing a lot of improvement over the last one.  I'm mainly happier with it because I think that he's starting to look a bit more "wild," whereas before it looked too similar to a domestic cat.  The ears and nose could really use some love and touching up, so I'll be focusing on that next.

Two quick digital painting practices.

First, one that you'll recognize - the one that ended up being the banner to this page, haha.  It started as a quick practice, but liked how it turned out, so I edited it and put it into the layout. But here it is without all the overly-hip grunge and paint splatters:

And something I started last night, a carcal.

He's a work-in-progress.  So far, I've put in about 100-120 minutes
An updated carcal will be coming around soon.  Until then, any suggestions?
